Privacy Policy
Short version: your research data stays on your device, and we collect as little as possible.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. What This Covers
This policy covers the MerchRadar website (merchradar.app) and the Merch Radar — Amazon Research Chrome extension. Both are operated by MerchRadar. If anything here is unclear, contact us any time at the address in section 8.
2. Chrome Extension
The Merch Radar extension is built to keep your data on your device:
- —No data leaves your browser: The extension does not send your browsing activity, research data, or any personal information to MerchRadar or any third-party server. It has no analytics and no tracking.
- —Reads Amazon pages you visit: To show research signals (such as BSR, price, ratings, and listing age), the extension reads product information from Amazon pages you are already viewing, and may fetch individual Amazon product pages you interact with. This happens only on Amazon websites.
- —Stores data locally: Products you save and extension settings are stored with Chrome's storage on your device. If you are signed into Chrome with sync enabled, Chrome may sync this data across your own browsers — that sync is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy, and MerchRadar has no access to it.
- —No account required: The extension works without registration, login, or any personal details.
- —Fonts: The extension loads its interface font from Adobe Fonts (use.typekit.net). Adobe may log the font request (such as your IP address) per Adobe's privacy policy; no research or personal data is included.
To remove all extension data, uninstall the extension — Chrome deletes its storage automatically. The full extension policy, including a permission-by-permission explanation, is at merchradar.app/extension/privacy.
3. Website
- —Search tool: Niche searches on merchradar.app run in your browser. Your recent searches and filter preferences are stored in your browser's local storage so the tool remembers your defaults. They are not sent to our servers unless you create an account (below).
- —Optional account: If you sign up, we store your email address and your synced preferences/search history with our database provider (Supabase) so they follow you across devices. You can delete your account data by contacting us.
- —Pro waitlist: If you join the Pro waitlist, we store the email address you submit, only to contact you about MerchRadar Pro.
- —Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics service that collects aggregated page-view statistics. It does not track you across sites.
- —Advertising: Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to personalize ads and measure performance, as described in Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
4. What We Don't Do
- —We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- —We don't collect your Amazon credentials, order history, or account data.
- —We don't track your browsing outside of merchradar.app.
- —We don't send marketing emails unless you explicitly opted in (e.g. the Pro waitlist).
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Extension and local browser data live only on your device — clear them by uninstalling the extension or clearing site data. Account and waitlist data are kept until you ask us to delete them. Email us and we will remove your data within 30 days.
6. Children
MerchRadar is a business research tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes to how the extension handles data will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store changelog.
